Sugar

Ignore naturally occurring sugars in fruit, etc.
Cut out added sugars in foods that don't need to be sweet as this will save on calories. Switch to diet soda, use plain yogurt and add in fruit and protein powder for taste, etc.
Eat sweets that you love in moderation. My favorites are ice cream, ice cream sandwiches, and ice cream cones. Oh, and ice cream.
Giving up coffee is a sin and won't help accomplish much of anything. It's one of those addictions that doesn't do any harm so long as you can sleep at night. It is also proven to increase endurance and it definitely helps me get out for morning runs.0 -
Fake sugar (splenda, sweet N'low, stevia, truvia, etc) are all worse for you than natural sweeteners (sugar and honey) for a myriad of reasons.
If you want to cut the sugar carbs you are going to just have to bite the bullet and do it - there really isn't anything that works other than that. Cold turkey and then if you can handle it reintroduce a treat now and then later on down the road.
^ All of this! It really just comes down to willpower. It was super hard for me to stop getting my venti vanilla latte every morning (I was totally addicted), but I did it, and my belly is getting smaller on the daily.
Some people replace sugar with raw honey.0 -
/]I have lost 60 lbs. since January 6, 2013 by eating whole foods, no sugar and walking every day.
No. You lost weight because you created a calorie deficit.
[Do you know her story? Carloric deficit is a great theory and all, but tell me, does it work on everyone?]0 -
Why don't you show me the chemical compounds that makes up the human body too. Everything on Earth is a chemical compound.
"but organic Stevia which is derived from a plant and does not have chemicals is best if you must sweeten"
She means additive chemicals, chemicals used to process--NOT the chemical structure, oh thread hijacker.
So HFCS would fall under that as well, since it's just fructose and glucose?0 -
I like the stuff that grows in stalks in South Florida and Puerto Rico, the Dominican, and most of the Caribbean. I think it's called "cane." But only in moderation.0

It only doesn't work in special snowflakes' minds0 -
I switched to tea -- some blends have caffeine some do not. I do not add sugar or milk to my tea (unless its an English style tea) because it has such a good flavor on its own. Not bitter. I am not sure I ever really liked coffee or if I just like cream and sugar.
I also started taking a multi-vitamin formulated for Energy and it also has caffeine and B vitamins in large does that it gets me going in the morning. No crashing.0 -

Of course, but if I try to do a calorie deficit that includes sugar it is INSANELY DIFFICULT.
If I remove added sugar from my diet, it's not that hard because I don't suffer from constant cravings.
I've done it before, temporarily, while keeping sugar and bread and things like that in my diet but it took crazy willpower and to be honest I was a total ***** to be around at the time. Now? Not a big deal. I feel satisfied with what I'm eating - and I don't really even have to count calories, because it kind of naturally comes up to a caloric defecit. Sure it still takes some discipline, but it's a reasonable and sustainable amount of discipline. If I add sugar and simple carbs back in, to stay at the same calorie level, I feel like I am starving to death and it sucks. Therefore I can't sustain it and it doesn't result in long term success.
You're welcome to lose weight any way you like, but that's what works for me. Just cutting calories without changing the content of my diet is not a viable plan for me personally.0 -

You know it does. Have you actually seen what has to happen (chemical process)to corn to make HFCS??? and some stevia such as Stevia in the Raw are absolutely on par with the likes of HFCS because of the chemical process it undergoes. Again, Calling hijack.
To the OP--You can also buy a stevia plant, and just use the leaves.....I find if I do this I still want a little bit of honey, and the stevia doesn't quite hit the sweet receptors on your tongue like honey does...0 -

What else in HFCS besides fructose and glucose and the chemical constituents of those?
Again calling BS on your nonsense0
