HELP

I am 23 yrs old and I weigh 142 lbs. I would love to get back down to 125-130 just to be healthy and fit again. I have been running 2-3 miles for the past month, trying to slim down and be more fit. I have not seen any improvement. I have a mostly healthy diet with unhealthy snacks every once and awhile. I just started doing the Jillian Michaels 30 day Shred this past week. What do i need to do different, are there any recipes you have for me. I'm starting to shut down since I havens seen any progress.

When you start a new exercise program, it can lead to a little bit of weight gain just from the storage of water in your muscles. That could be overshadowing any fat loss you may have had on the scale.

I would seriously suggest strength training. If you spend some time on MFP you'll find that it's quite popular around here. That will help you retain your muscle mass as you lose weight, which will change your body composition so you look leaner even if you're at a higher weight.

Also, make sure you track correctly what you're eating. Sometimes the unhealthy snack here and there adds up.

Make sure your meals are spread out during the day. Make sure your eating the proper ratios of fats, protiens, carbs, etc. Change your routine up regularly. Your body gets used to certain things. Once it is able to accpomplish a certain task (weight, distance, intensity, etc) it stops adapting. So if you run 3 miles every day, make it 3.5 next week. The following week, add in some hills or stairs, then make it on a bike for a week.

And dont give up. keep moving your body.

Hi, I started the 30 day shred on Monday, but in addition i'd take some routines from fitness blender and though I have only fallen half kilo i can assure you that you will notice the difference in tone of the muscles and measures, you must have patience, keep working out and take care of your meals. And without even realizing it you will see the difference.
