    Its a muscle, older people struggle because they have weak pelvic floors. Get your head out of the gutter. Ahahaha I said head lol

    Yes. They do work. It is a big part of the entire philosophy of Pilates, and a benefit of a stronger pelvic floor is a stronger core. It is all connected, and Pilates takes it a step further by adding breathing into the mix. So if you're doing weight training for instance, breath out during the most resistant part of the move. Breath in while you return, and lift the pelvic floor while breathing in. It also helps back trouble believe it or not....

    I friend who is studying to be a nurse told me that in one of her classes they discussed kegels. Apparently in order to keep from being incontinent in old age you need to do 100 a day! Keep Kegeling!
