Concocting my own protein shake-possible?

Hello,
I saw pea protein has like 25g protein per 30g scoop and 0.5g carbs.
Now I have a Blendtec blender, if I put the yellow dried peas I bought from store into it and blend -is that it? done?
I went to bulk n barn (canadian store) - they sell pea protein powder for ~10$/per lb- which is very expensive. I'd rather stick with whey at those prices.
So what do you guys think?

I don't think that would be the same. All the parts of the pea would still be in the powder you made, meaning much higher carbs to protein. I think some kind of special chemical process is used to separate the macros.
If you look at the nutrient breakdown for the dried peas, it'll be exactly the same after you blend them up. Kind of like having pre-chewed or chewed food doesn't actually change the nutrient profile. So I guess if the peas are 25g protein and 0.5g carbs per 30g of dried peas... then I guess it would work. But I don't think that'll be the case.
You could see if you can Google it. I don't really know how protein powder is made.0 -
I just googled it out of curiosity. You can do it, but it's not as simple as dumping peas into a blender.

Yea, unfortunately I think the prices on non-animal protein aren't so much inflated as reflective of how much work it is to get the protein powder made!0 -

Right now they are milking vegans out of as much money as they can-once the numbers go up -eventually prices will come down too. I guess all boils down to demand. Higher demand, higher volume less price per unit cost.
I found pea protein online and it's cheaper. I just have to wait until shipping is free haha otherwise it'll end up being the same price1
