Don't get caught in the day to day variations. Keep weighing more often if you want to, but only really record/care about weight once a week, weighed under the same conditions (i.e. first thing in the morning, same scale, nude, after bathroom visit, etc.)0

Mean you have no idea what you're eating in terms of calories over the week
Will that make you put on 5lb in 4 days..no...it's water weight, or bad scales / battery issue0 -

Scales don't ever weigh the same0 -
Lol that's kinda like asking why you used more gas driving to work this week compared to last, them eventually revealing you changed cars.1

All scales will give a different reading, you really should've mentioned that at the beginning of your post.0 -
Sorry to all... Thanks for your input... Wish you all the best1

I weighed a few kgs more on a new digital scale when i switched from an old dial one, completely normal OP.0

Now the scale 198.8... Damn digital.. All confused0

It's the new scale. Every scale is different. No scale is accurate.0

Give it a month of solid data before you start panicking OP. Set up a weight tracking app, I use Trendweight. Phone apps are Libra for Android, and Happy scale for IOS.0 -

This. Also, if you aren't already doing so, make sure you're weighing at the same time of day each day under the exact same conditions (clothed or not, eaten or not, bathroom, scale in the same spot, etc..) Body weight changes throughout the day, so weighing at the same time each day shrinks some of the variables.0 -
It happens bro
I was 185 Sunday and 179.4 today1 -
If you just started lifting weights again after a break then your muscles will retain water while they heal. I have been down this road before and I've had many, many male friends go "WTF, I started l lifting weights hard core and I GAINED 4-6 lbs while eating on a deficit?!?" And then 2-3 weeks later their weight plummets when the water comes off. As long as you *really* have a deficit then give it a few weeks.0

Thanks to all0

What tools are you using to make sure you are eating at a deficit?
What you're experiencing is probably natural fluctuation. You can't gain actual fat while eating at a deficit.

You changed scale. They probably won't read the same. There is your answer!0

It could be muscle gain or water weight as people have been saying. The fact of the matter is it's virtually impossible to put on 5lbs in 4 days unless you were eating in excess, which I don't believe you were. Don't worry, continue on the right track and when you weigh in next week, it's very likely you could lose it all. However, consider the fact that it could be muscle gain, which in that case isn't a bad thing. Remember, scales are only good to measure you're overall progress, but they don't differentiate between muscle weight, water weight & bone density. You'll be fine. Fun Fact, I had a cheat day recently and I ate around 4000 calories, I only put on 0.7lbs. So, there's no way you've put on 4lbs in such a short time whilst eating healthily. You have nothing to worry about. Good luck ❤️.0

It can not be muscle gain for the exact thing you said in your sentence right afterwards. It's virtually impossible to put on 5lbs in 4 days". Not even when eating in excess because you'd have to eat and process 4375 calories above maintenance every single day of those.1 -

Yes.
And, FTR again, OP used two different scales. And now the new scale is showing close to his originally weight as well.
It sounds like some temporary water retention for any number of reasons - a high sodium day, higher carbs than usual, different activity level, etc.0
