    i'm black and grew up in the north and we only eat like that during family gatherings/holidays. in my household eating fast food is the huge issue

    I read your citation above. That was interesting. I was beginning to think carbs were my problem. But this article says otherwise. But then again, I gained weight going high protein and had to cut back. Now I am trying low carb/high fat and will have to beware if gaining from too much fat. People can gain weight by eating too much of any macro(s).
