I was wanting to know if all fiber is the same. I know there is soluble and insoluble but is it the same from different foods.

I read oats are good for cholesterol and also help lowering blood pressure due to fiber but there is not much in it. One slice on my bread has the same amount as a single serving of my oats.

So would the fiber be the same and act the same or does the oats have something else that helps. I need to eat more fiber to help lower my cholesterol some but not a fan of oats.

Hope I explained it right. Thanks

Foods that are rich in fiber have different balances between insoluble and soluble fiber. Both have different benefits.

Soluble: Helps keep you full, prevents constipation, regulate blood sugar spikes if you're diabetic or insulin resistant.

Insoluble; Helps keep you full and regular, helps prevent bowel issues in some cases
