So Im kind of getting discouraged here and feel like the end isnt any where close for me. Im currently 247 and would like to be about 200. Are there any guys 5'-9" about 200lbs? Id like to see if I can get a boost in my self esteem here. Thanks!

Not too far off - 5'8" 195 here (was about 250 in January). Original goal was 170, but if I hit 12% Bf I will probably stop wherever I'm at. (18-20% right now).0

I'm 5'9 and just posted a pic of me at 196. What is keeping you down, bro?0

hey Drum... Just feel like I should be further along than I am now. I mean its been 6 weeks... 4 weeks of intense work at the gym and really eating well. Ill have 1 cheat day a week (ill cheat within reason) and only down 10lbs. All my size is in my gut and chest area. I took pix last night sans shirt and and it all looks bigger than ever.0

DUDE!!!!!!!!!! 10lbs in 6 weeks is the rate I'm losing at. I'm avg 1.75lbs/week and I am quite happy because I eat a decent amount of food and I eat at maintenance once a week.
Look. 10lbs at your weight is nothing. I didn't notice any changes until I got to 200. I started at 216 and lost 15lbs and was like *kitten*. Now, I am starting to see more drastic changes like vascularity in my biceps but only during pump.
It will take a while but keep it up. It's a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggggggggggggg process. Just know that it will take 6months or maybe more to get down to 10-12%. I think I'm at 18-20% right now and have about 25lbs of fat to go0 -
I know... Im a thick headed italian and always look for instant gratification and its a hard habit to break. I mean I can see I can lift heavier, run faster and longer so thats a plus. Its a long road that Id like to think Im ready for but this is the hardest thing Ive ever had to do... honestly Im scared. Scared that I wont make it to the end and if I do... can I stay that way.0

I know what you're going through. As long as you come to turns that it will be a long journey (6-8 months) then you will be fine. You will have a slip up here and there but trust me, we will get there. Keep your head up, bro.0 -
5'10" - 192: I started at 232. I saw fast weight loss doing Weight Watchers with my wife. I was so focused on what the scale said I didn't see i was loosing muscle too. If all your wanting is the scale to move to smaller numbers then don't lift as much, do some cardio and cut your intake. But I can tell you that you won't like how you look. You'll end up with floppy skin and hardly any muscle tone. It took me some time to tone up and add muscle but I did it by adding calories and heavy lifting. What scared me was the scale - I was gaining weight and it freaked me out. Now I just weight myself every 3 months but I take measurements every 2 weeks to see if there is any change. I have been hovering around the same weight for about 4 months but my measurements have changed for the good - larger arms, legs, chest; smaller hips, waist and abdomen. I'll be honest - the last 4 months have been the hardest. But I'm sticking with it! I know it's working. The last 10 are always the hardest especially when trying to loose fat and if you're over 40 - which I am by several years. Damn near 50 actually.
Hang in there buddy!!! It's at this point, where you're about to give in, where real breakthrough happens.0
