Does blogging help with the mental aspect of weight loss?

Thinking about starting a blog on here, just to help myself organize my thoughts....if anyone would like to share if it has helped them, I would appreciate it....I'm really struggling lately and could use all the help I can get!

I would have to say yes it helps a lot!

I have a blog, one here at MFP but also a personal and diet blog (link is in my profile), and posting in my personal blog every week for my weigh in has not only held me accountable but has encouraged me as I've see the success.

I did start a blog on this site but I mostly write in my personal one.

    I say start a blog!

I would think it would depend on the individual. Personally, I get a bit distracted even just posting here on the message boards.

For me, accountability has to begin and end with me. I'm overeating addict and have to take responsibility for myself. Not really sure blogging would help me or anyone reading it (assuming anyone did read it).

I think it can help, yes. I know for me it helps keep me focused and on track, and I've not even had my blog for long only a few weeks. I think it's going to be useful to be able to use a blog to record when I hit certain milestones etc.
It can't hurt to try, and if you don't like it/ find it helpful you can always just stop updating. :)
    Good luck!

I've just started blogging, but I really enjoy it. It's a way to get all those thoughts that are in your head out.

Yes definitely! I actually like to make connections to successful people to try and be more like them! Remember to network if you want visitors.

I sorta blog a little bit in my head each day. I go over how I'm feeling, what I've learned, where am I going and where I want to end up
Not just in weight loss but in life as well. I've thought about writing some of it down but not so sure anyone would have an interest in reading it.

I journal in a composition book. That way I can say whatever without being afraid anyone will see it or judge, because sometimes we can only be truly honest if we think others aren't looking/judging- at least for me. Yeah, it helps a lot.

It helps, I believe. I write in a private blog myself. Be careful though, because it can lead to obsessive behavior.
