Glucomanan or konjack root powder is the main ingredient. It's just a type of fiber. I buy it in bulk from ebay and add it to my smoothies and stuff to thicken it up. Sometimes I add it to a glass of water before I eat and it can help me fill up faster. The same stuff is in Liposene. Save your cash and just by the bulk powder.

FYI, it's also the same stuff they make those pasta zero "noodles" out of.

Glucomannan (aka = Glucomanano, Glucomannane, Konjac, Konjac Mannan, Amorphophallus konjac, Amorphophallus rivieri) can be used as a bulking laxative ... I'm sure Google has some additional thoughts on the product. There should be no real need to buy the name-brand,but it'll prolly be best to avoid the compressed/solid pill format in your shopping, since this format is related to more of the adverse side effects than consumption of the powder/flour format.

One thing I like to keep in mind for all of these types of products is:
"If money can buy effective weight-loss and long-term weight-management, why isn't Oprah Winfrey thin?"

I would absolutely add to my comment that if you're going to use it, mix it well with a lot of water. It works as great thickening agent for smoothies or gravies. And no, it's not going to do anything for weight loss by itself, it's just fiber. There's zero reason to buy the gimmicky, overpriced products like Skinny Fiber when you can get 16oz of the raw powder for around 8 - 10 bucks.

Opinion: Eat a serving of Fiber One cereal instead. Or put some chia seeds on a food.

    This^

I add Fiber One to Greek yogurt. Chia seeds are great in oatmeal. Lots of ways to add fiber here & there. Combine that with fruits, veggies, whole grains.....I can always meet fiber goals.

BTW - you can add fiber to your list of things to track.
