Are the options with check marks next to them the most accurate? I'm talking more about generic fruit/veg than branded or packaged foods.

The verified checkmark only means that a certain number of people have said the information is accurate, even though the chances are it isn't at all. For whole foods (produce, meats, nuts, etc), the best thing to do is to look up the calorie information on USDA's database and double check the MFP entries against it. If an incorrect entry is not verified, you have the option to correct it.0
