What did you first 20lbs look like?

I have apparently lost 20, but I don't feel that way...I have noticed maybe some SMALL differences, but it doesn't look or feel like 20lbs.

What did you first 20 look like? Was it noticable? Could you feel it?

At 20 pounds down, the only difference I saw was that my pants suddenly (and I mean like, overnight-ish) seemed pretty baggy. But after another 5 pounds, I had to go down a jean size because they wouldn't stay on my hips. And I think the new pants were when people started commenting on my weight loss.

Chin up, it'll become more noticeable as you go along :)

Me too, at 20 lbs it was a small difference. Still the same size clothes, just not so 'lumpy' ;). For example, I have a dress that a few months ago I'd put a sweater on in hopes to hide my 'spare tire'. Now it fits much nicer and I don't bother with a cover-up. I wore it out to dinner and actually felt good!

A good suggestion I've read is to compare pics of yourself, you may see more of a difference that way.

    Congrats on your loss :)

It takes about 20 pounds to really start noticing changes (especially for other people to notice). Alot of the time, this is because the first fat to go is the fat that is surrounding your organs (which is the worst fat and is the most dangerous to your health), so although you may not be losing inches or seeing dramatic results, you are gaining years on your lifespan and becoming much healthier. Keep with it and you will start to notice physical results soon (inches).

It took me about 20 pounds for anyone to notice at all. At 36 pounds down, I have dropped 2-3 dress sizes (depending on brand), went from a L/XL down to a M/L, and I now have a waistline (although admittedly it's a high waist line, like a sweetheart waistline. I am very curvy), I have collar bones and sexy shoulders, and I am SO happy.

Here's a little tip that is almost kindof like cheating - get some skin firming lotion. Use it liberally morning and night. It will tighten things up and make it look like you have lost an extra 5 pounds without even doing anything. You have to use it for a week or two to really kick in, and use it every day, but it totally works.

Good luck! Just stick with it! You will start seeing physical changes soon, I promise.

Thanks everyone! I think another problem is that I don't wear pants, I don't even own any pants. I only wear skirts and dresses so it's hard to tell. I guess they might be a little looser, but I keep convincing myself it's because I've washed them :P

Keep it up! Thanks again :)

Here's my set of progress pics from 250-175, with weights posted at the bottom. The last gap is only 15 lbs, but you can see roughly between 15-25 lbs in each picture.
