Hi
Last night it suddenly dawned on me what's been going on, and i thought id share.
Bit of background: since January ive been overeating treat type foods each weekend starting on friday night. This has coincided with my job becomming stressful and me not seeing it pan out.
As i raided the snack cupboard last night I was able to catch my thoughts for the first time and realised that ive been trying to 'celebrate' not being in work by allowing myself to eat 'party/treat' food all weekend (that i dont actually want/ crave).
Hopefully now i understand this i can acknowledge it and not let it throw me off track. (ive been gaining and losing the same 5lbs since January) i have recollections of doing this before when i hated my job- it suddenly all makes sense. Dont you just love it when it just 'clicks'?
It also makes me aware that i need a new job asap.

Talk about getting to the heart of the problem! It's awesome that you were able to stop and think about why you were eating and now you can change the behavior that's a huge step in the right direction. It's also a great reminder to us all to be more self aware. I bet once you take off those 5 lbs you won't ever see them again .0

Yes, this! In late 2014 I left my stressful job and lost 8 pounds, that job offered me more money to return and I did it. Put the weight right back on, had back issues, felt like crap, was tired all the time....so just left the job again, this time for good!
OP, good for you for seeing this in yourself. I hope you find a new job soon

Thanks everyone. Looking back i can correlate every time i gained weight with job stress and every weight loss with happy times.
Im going to start applying for new jobs even if its not promotion, just sideways. It will be a positive step that is within my control.2
