Lost 7lbs but can't get into dress I wore when I was heavier

Hi everyone
I lost 7lbs just by being mire careful with food choices. I went from 144lbs to 137lbs earlier this year and have kept stable since February. I'm 5 foot 7.5
Some clothes are definitely looser and people have commented on my weight loss, especially in my face. I have 2 pairs of scales and they both say I have lost.
My exercise regime hasn't changed, I do long walks and swim once or twice a week.
I'm scared that I'm kidding myself and that maybe I have lost a lot of muscle and that's why I've lost weight, but I'm actually just fatter. Or that I'm simply dehydrated.
I'm confused:(

Are you doing any resistance training to help maintain LBM?
Have you been taking measurements?
Have you tested your BF%?
It is possible that the last time you wore the dress you had more LBM and less fat (lower BF%) than you do now. Which would explain why the dress doesn't fit.0 -
Did you measure yourself? before? after? Muscle can be bulkier.
I have found I have shifted where my weight sits. This causes some clothes to be looser and others to be tighter.
Is it possible the dress has shrunk in the wash? at the dry cleaners?
Muscle is less flexible to smush and scrunch into an outfit. It kinda remains put. Is it possible that you have created a move svelte figure but it is less flexible? That's why the measurements make a difference.
Are you certain that your scales are accurate? Mine are not, so I can flux 5 pounds easily because of my scales.
Water weight. Are you eating high sodium and retaining water? Periods and bloating can make the same outfit unwearable. Bloating can occur for many reasons.
Have you a thyroid issue? Sometimes there can be a bloating with thyroid issues. A blood test can tell you. My nephew slimmed down without a change in diet or exercise by going on thyroid meds when he discovered a hypothyroid condition.
I am sorry that I can't be more help. I haven't given you anything you probably don't already know. And I haven't actually answered your question. I do hope I have triggered something in your thoughts that can set you on the path to figure it out.
Best wishes,
