Rotator Cuff Injury: Cardio Suggestions?

I injured my rotator cuff last week. Clearly, I cannot do much with weights at this point but I would still like to continue with cardio. I'm not a huge fan of jogging/running and most of my fitness DVDs use too much upper body for me to get an adequate workout.

Any suggestions?

Yeah definitely try the bike! If you have access to a gym with spin classes they're fun, and you can work at your own level, and if your shoulder is sore you can stay seated and support your weight mostly on your other arm.

I find stationary cycling is the easiest to keep up a decent intensity and watch TV or something without worrying about falling off or something like that, so it's kind of a nice way to get some "me time" without feeling guilty for doing nothing.

You could try rollerblading or ice skating, especially if there's a place near you. Obviously not a great every-day suggestion, but still.

I know you said you don't like walking or jogging, but there's an app called "Zombies run" which is supposed to make it a bit more fun (never used it, but a lot of people I know who "hate running" did and said it was actually pretty good). Hiking is another option, yes it's still walking but you could grab a friend or partner and go somewhere nice.

I've been trying to rehab a shoulder injury for months and months now that has kept me out of the pool. Thankfully I'm more of cyclist and runner, but I was getting ready to finally do a triathlon when it happened. It's very frustrating! Once the pain settles you might find that the rower is okay, especially with light resistance, it really depends on exactly what you've done and what advice you've been given.
