Microwave Rice Steamer - Help Please

Hello.
Anybody out there cook brown rice in their microwave rice steamer? I followed the time suggested on the website for the MV rice steamer (Sistema) but the rice was uncooked when the time was up (18 min). So I added more liquid and cooked it for another 10 minutes. It's still not cooked all the way.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong. The only thing that I modified from the recipe was the amount of servings I'm trying to cook. I started with 1/2 c brown rice and added 1 c liquid.

Any suggestions?

    Brown rice is much longer than white. It takes more liquid too. Can you google it?

    I recently bought a microwave rice cooker and when I cooked my brown rice it took 1 cup of rice and 2 cups of water. The cook time was 30 minutes at 70-80% power.
