Calorie burn: t'ai chi workout -vs- moderate speed (3mph) walking

According to my charts for calorie burn, at my weight (188 lbs), 38 minutes of T'ai Chi would burn 216 calories; while moderate walking 3mph (dog walking rate) is listed at 179 calories. The WALK seems to me to burn, and exert MUCH MORE energy, than my 24-form Yang style Tai Chi "workout" with warm up exercises. Where do you get the T'ai Chi energy burn???

Perhaps Chen Taiji "could" do that (depending upon the focus of the session) but I'm skeptical of Yang Taiji doing that. Especially if it is the dreamy eyed crystal unicorn seeking stillness in stillness that is ubiquitous in America.0
