Buying workout clothes...

So I need new clothes because my old ones are FINALLY too big. (That felt GREAT to type!) I'd like to continue with Under Armour stuff but do they ever send out discounts? I'm signed up for their emails and I never get anything. Paying full price will kill my budget. Do they ever have big sales?

I think they just finished their end of season sale. Sometimes they have good stuff in the clearance part of the site.

I buy expensive running capris because they last forever, but I buy cheap tank tops at Walmart or Gordmans.

Some my workout capris and shorts from Target have been fantastic. Despite heavy use they have lasted (a year and a half with weekly washing) and not even gotten pilly from thigh friction.

I buy whatever is cheapest which usually for me means russell athletics at walmat. That way if I destroy something I don't feel like I invested a chunk of money into it and need to keep using long after it should have been thrown away.

The single best workout clothing I have ever bought or gotten was a pair of moisture wicking underwear which has changed running forever.

Outlets. There's a UA outlet store one town away from me. It has a lot of clearance when the seasons change. Last week, lots of winter stuff.

Sports Authority used to be great for clearance stuff :(
Dick's is ok. YMMV, but the men's clearance selection usually sucks.
Sports Chalet has always been meh to me for clearance.

I buy all of my workout gear from places like TJ Maxx or Marshall's or even the Thrift Store. I never pay full price for work out gear from Under Armour or Nike. I think what the big box retailers, or even the outlets, want WAY to much for them. The only brand I'm okay paying MSRP [at the big box stores] or even outlet MSRP for Adidas.

Old Navy actually has pretty decent workout stuff. I've had a pair of compression capris for over 2 years and am just now needing to replace them. But I would like to 'thumbs up' the Marshalls/TJ Maxx suggestions. I have found deeply discounted under armour stuff there multiple times.

Thrift stores, garage sales and ebay. I love Athleta workout wear, but it's quite pricey. I've found some good deals on Ebay. I also just found a pair of nearly new Nike running capris at a garage sale for 50 cents! Yay!

Look for an outlet store. The outlet mall nearest me as an UA outlet store. The merchandise isn't exactly the same as their regular line, but it's good quality and styling at a good price. Also check your local sporting goods stores for end of season sales. While selection of sale merchandise is limited, there are deals to be had. Just this weekend I picked up a running hoodie at Athleta for $19.99--marked down from $89.

I think Kohls sells UA stuff? They are always having sales.

I've found cheap UA stuff at Marshalls before.

I was recently in my local UA outlet, and they still had the sell going. I don't mind spending more, if I feel I'm getting what I pay for. I have some Nike shorts that I bought in 2003, and they still look like new.

I like their clothing, but I only buy it on sale. I mainly shop online and they always have a sale / clearance site. You can usually find codes for free shipping as well. That's something I never pay for. If I can't get it shipped for free then I'll shop elsewhere.

I have never paid more than $9 for a good workout shirt and about that maybe a little less for shorts. Fred meyer/kroger has some great clearance sales on UA and adidas stuff, same with khols, and I also regularly find decent deals at Ross. I have not had good luck with old navy stuff, it usually seems to fall apart or get stretched out way too easy. Sometimes the nike outlet stores have great bargains, most of the time though they are meh on prices. With the exception of my moisture wicking adidas underwear for running, I don't have any brand loyalty for shirts/shorts.

Sports Chalet and Sports Authority both went out of business and were closing their stores. The stores near me are now closed but perhaps they're doing it in waves and there are stores near you with steep discounts. I bought a bunch of under armor shirts at like 30-40% off during their Store Closing sales
