Here is the simplest way for you to do it since you have a fitband:

I assume your fitband calculates your calories burned throughout the day? Make sure all your stats are correct with that account and look at you average daily expenditure calculated by your fitband. Use that as your TDEE and subtract from that based on how quickly you would like to lose (-500cal/day = 1lb/week). That is your calorie goal for weight loss. You would not log exercise on MFP since it is already accounted for by your fitband.

make sure you are logging your food accurately: weigh solid foods on a food scale, measure caloric liquids with measuring spoon/cups, and make sure you are selecting appropriate (correct) entries. If you need more info on that see the post below:

Are you using MFP settings? If you just plug in your stats, and record your weight regularly, MFP will adjust your calorie allowance as you lose weight. HOWEVER, if you are using your fit band to calculate your calories, I would stop doing this. So many post here about how inaccurate these devices can be. I would just use MFP's exercise calories and go from there.

not such great advice...mine is great and the majority are.

OP with MFP you set your activity level based on pre exercise.
If your activity tracker is sync'd to MFP set your activity level to sedentary and eat back the exercise calories you are given by your tracker and enable negative adjustments. That is how MFP and activity trackers are suppose to be used together.

Agreed. I know Fitbits are not perfect, as nothing could possibly be, but the loudest voices on these forums over the inaccuracies of Fitbit are those that a) have never used them, b) used them improperly, or c) did not actually weigh their food and were eating more than they thought the whole time. I've been using my Charge HR for a bit over a year now. I was 131 when I bought it and now I'm 108 pounds. I have had zero issues and have yet to encounter these supposed 1000+ calorie inaccuracies.
