Several weeks a report/study came out that said frequent recurring use of Prilosec was harmful. So to those MFP's who use Prilosec, have you used any Natural Remedies and did they work?

Trying my best to "manage" heartburn without medication. My only natural "food" remedy is to keep a log of flare-ups so I can steer clear of those foods. Sticking with higher PH fruits. Avoiding high fat meals. BBQ sauce and ketchup....horrible for me. Apple cider vinegar as a cure? - Yikes! Not for me.

Chewing mint gum - somewhat helpful. Chamomile tea - no noticeable benefit to me.

Wedge pillow - check. Raised the head of my bed a couple inches higher - check. Avoid snacks or eating 3 hours before bedtime (not so great here) - I keep any snack food really light, popcorn for example.

Many people report that their reflux is greatly diminished by weight loss alone.

I'm on omeprazole for stomach issues. No natural remedy has helped significantly and I'm already at bmi 20 so weight loss won't help but I do have Crohn's disease so that could be the reason.
