Carrie Underwood deck of cards workout?

I'm curious if anyone does this and if it really burns 600 calories. The deal is you assign an exercise or part of the body to each suit in the deck (mixing cardio and lifting) and the number on the card represents reps, or minutes for cardio. I was looking around for a good calorie burn and this came up several times on google and pinterest. Has anyone tested it to see if it does burn a lot of calories? How many cards do you do in one session? Any input is appreciated!

Anyone? What about just a general routine that burns a few hundred calories, other than just the treadmill?

I have never heard of this before but as far as a general routine - what are you looking to do? I run 3 times a week and then I do a Jillian Michaels workout 3 days a week. She has many different types including kickboxing, weights, yoga, etc. depending on what you like. I burn 300+ calories with each of her workouts.

Insanity is HIIT and there is also a site called Daily HIIT that is free. Both burn tons of calories too. Just really depends on what you want to do.

I'm doing couch to 5k but I run so slow I'm only burning a couple hundred calories per session at most. I'm looking to lose about 40 lbs. and I'm looking for some quick burns (like 30-60 minutes). I can't do anything too strenuous or high impact due to some physical issues.

eating in a deficit is what is going to make you lose ...lifting/running is just an added "bonus" burn that you get ....

make sure you are in 500 cal a day deficit ...

if you are looking for quick burns try circuit training....

what kind of physical issues? If you get a trainer and learn proper form you should be able to do compound lifts, etc...

I'm looking to do this at home without spending money on a gym or trainer. I have a treadmill and freeweights. I have spina bifida so I can't really run for a long amount of time (although I'm working on that with the c25k) and I have minor lower back problems. I'm just not supposed to do heavy lifting or any sort of extended high intensity cardio, but I'm building up my stamina slowly. I just can't jump into something crazy like Insanity like your average person can.
