Realistic Goals

So I've been on and off, mostly off, MFP for the last 5 years! I've only been steadily gaining weight for this time. It's not due to anything, but lack of motivation and restraint from myself. Either way, I'm going to try this again. This time I have a friend who is going to keep me accountable. She asked me for my goals and I realize part of the reason I was failing was due to unrealistic goals. What were your goals when you first started? If you could adjust them what would they have been? Please help!

    My goal is to lose only two pounds a week because if I try and lose more than that I'm pretty sure I would gain every ounce back and then some. I've been on so many different types of diets and failed miserably so this time I'm just watching what I eat and exercising, instead of focusing so much on losing a lot of weight in a small amount of time
