Rough day of healthy living. I won't pretend that I will never again eat a cheeseburger or something fried or something that I have loved since forever, but I know myself better than anyone, and for now, at least now, I have to stay away so that I don't fall back into old patterns.
Today was tough. I was hungrier than usual, I think because I am exercising more and more. Either way, my normal snacks and meals just weren't cutting it and it seemed like driving down the road I could smell every single amazing and trashy thing that I once loved. Popeyes was staring at me, Taco Bell was calling to me, McDonalds was beckoning for me to come and buy a Big Mac.
So, I went home, grabbed a cup of grapes, some almonds and decided that I have to make the decision to change everyday, not just once. It is a daily decision to choose to be healthy. So far, I am making the right choices for me.
And when the time comes to allow myself to splurge on a meal, I will. But for now, healthy choices.

If fast food is a trigger that leads to some sort of unhealthy "old pattern" then staying away was probably the right thing to do. Perhaps in time you will be able to incorporate some of these things you call "trashy" in your diet at some point. By the way, I do not think any food is trashy to bad. I still eat this stuff myself.
And today being tough and hungrier than usual? Does this mean you had a stressful day in general or with food choices? You can allow yourself to have these foods, just do it when you are ready and trust your self not to get back into what ever the habits were that is keeping you restricting them
But all in all, good job with finding a happy medium in your particular choices that meets your goal.Small steps and mini goals will lead to your success.

Take pictures of yourself, because you are going to be one of those success stories on here.
In one year before/after pics.

RoxieDawn, I definitely meant trashy in a good way. Sounds strange, but trashy means yummy. Lol.
And yes, definitely a trigger. I will eventually allow myself some fast food, but for now, Im staying away.
And yes, definitely pictures.0 -
Congratulations!! It does get easier over time. For me this is not an option I just don't want it. It will not help me achieve my goals and I'm very happy not to have this option, I've worked to hard to lose any ground with that crap. Your on your way, glad to see your success.0
