A favorite of mine is to hit the lake for dove opener. No one around so we camp on the beach, get a cooler of beers, set the shotty next to us and cast for cats or bass. Got our retriever ready to get birds down in the water.

It depends upon why, for sport: never; for sustenance: yes & therefore both! However I'd prefer to get my poultry/meat, from the grocery store but it's essential to learn how to, as a survival skill because we might have to, use it.0

I grew up fishing, my mom would take me and my brothers all the time.
This will be my first year hunting. For sure black tail maybe black bear.1 -

Right now, fishing wins...but only because I've never been hunting. If I did well on a hog hunt I'm certain it'd be right up there with fishing!0

I fish, my husband hunts. Later, when our kids need more feeding I will take my bow out for a deer every year (until then, its just for zombies lol)1
