Are bananas bad for weight loss?

Hi i just wanted to know if bananas contribute to fat gain. Please answer if you can

Yes, because of banana photerons. They cling to existing fat cells, and their enzymes cause the fat to gelatenize to a point that your body cannot expel it. This doesn't happen with other fruit because of magic.

They are high on the glycemic index and high in carbs. For this reason, you should absolutely weigh and track them carefully. Do not estimate banana size.
If you are sensitive to carbs, they might be a no-go, but otherwise, just work them into your plan for the day.8 -
they are great for fast reacting carbs, the only time id eat one is if I feel like im down on energy levels before a workout0

This probably originated with one of the many click-bait articles saying "don't eat bananas" or this "one weird trick" type articles. They are good sources for B6, potassium and magnanese, among other vitamins and minerals. Like anything though, too much of a good thing can be bad.4

Weight management is largely about energy (calorie) balance, not whether or not you eat X, Y, or Z.
Bananas do have a higher GI than many fruits so if you're pre-diabetic or diabetic that would be something to look at.2 -
Unless you are eating your calorie limit worth of bananas, I think you'll be fine. lol0

I have lost over 100 lbs and eat about 5 a week and I'm sensitive to Refried beans...lol..2

frozen banana "ice cream" is so good. mmmmm
If you don't know what this is , chop a banana, freeze it , then blend it til it's all creamy like. You can add other stuff if you want.3 -
Not bananas in particular, but if it fits within your plan then it can work. I was making 1-2 smoothies a day with fruits and vegetables as a meal replacement. I gained 3 pounds in one week. Come to find out I was over eating sugars from fruits and carbs which did cause me to gain weight. After I found out what my macro percentages were suppose to be and stuck to a maximum of 46 grams of sugar I followed them strictly and fat started melting off. I now only eat 0-2 servings of fruit a day.1

Over eating calories is what causes your weight gain, the sugars may have contributed to that, but the root cause is that you weren't in a calorie deficit. You could keep eating the fruit and adjust calories elsewhere if you wanted to achieve the same results.6
