dry pasta or cooked pasta

when using the food database to add food to meals, would it be the dry weight of pasta or rice or the cooked weight ?, could anyone advise me on this, TIA x

The information on your nutrition label is usually for the raw weight (unless the label specifies otherwise). If you need/want to weigh it after cooking, that's fine. Just be sure you're choosing an accurate and appropriate entry from the database that specifies it's for the cooked weight (ie you wouldn't use a grilled entry if you boiled it, etc)1

If making a large amount of pasta, I weigh how much I put into the pot, then I weigh the final weight after draining. That way I know what the ratio dry to cooked is. Just be careful if you take seconds or when divvying up leftovers because the cooked weight will become lower as it sits from evaporation. So 150g right after draining is a smaller portion than 150g after sitting for 20 minutes.1
