Spinal injury

Does anyone else here have a spinal injury that limits their activity? I'm severely struggling to lose these last 10 pounds (after three years and 51lbs gone) and I am running out of fitness options. The recumbent bike is becoming my enemy.

I have a bad back due to muscle tear and i found water excersise a godsend...swimming, aerobics or even walking up and down the pool all count and the water takes some of the weight out of it.

I'm also going to do a course of ballet fit classes as she can tailor the excersise round what I'm able to do.

I have disc damage from L1-L5, have had L4-L5 repaired in the past due to a very bad bulging disc, loss of feeling below the waist and emergency surgery. I also have spinal stenosis, and some permanent nerve damage from the previous injury. I can no longer run at all, muscles just don't work that way and the impact is just too much for my back and knees. I do, however, walk as fast as I can with good shoes, I also do body weight exercises, and own a Bowflex M5 Max Trainer which is almost 0 impact on the joints and back. I have a permanent weight restriction on my lower back of about 25 lbs so there's a lot of weight lifting I'll never be able to do. However if I take the pressure off my back, I can lift free weights and do some weight lifting while laying on my back or at a decline, but mostly I simply do body weight training.

Anyway, I've even managed to blow out my back and herniate 3 more discs last year in the summer by walking 4-5 miles a day 7 days a week (yes I was an idiot for not letting my body rest). Once I healed from that I learned some yoga techniques to help my lower back and the discs and I now limit myself to working out 6 days a week, sometimes 5. I listen more to my back, and work a lot on my core muscles. I've lost 117 lbs since February of 2015 and have been at maintenance for a few months now.

Feel free to add me as a friend if I can be of any help, or msg me. Even with these limitations there are many ways you can be fit and lose weight.
