Walk to Work

I found a sweet result to a bitter situation. I work at a hospital which charges staff $40 per month for parking. I found a place around the corner where I never get ticketed. 10 min walk x2 a day (sometimes at a brisk pace), has made a difference people are noticing.

I've always walked, but increased my distance during my last two years of university (2007 & 2008). All the parking within 2 km of the university was paid parking and was going to cost me a small fortune. But the parking beyond the 2 km point was free residential parking. It was an easy solution. I parked about 2.1 km from the university for free ... and walked. 4.2 km each day, 4 or 5 days a week. :) Sometimes I even walked to my car in the middle of the day to get something for an afternoon class, and walked back again.

It is a great way to get some extra exercise in! :)
