Does drinking water with water enhancers - like Mio - still count as "water"?

I never drink my calories except for milk and wine. :# I don't like the taste of water so I always add water enhancers like Mio, Crystal Light, Dasani drops, etc. it's the only way I can drink a good amount of water per day. But I am wondering if I am still reaping all the benefits of water if I am drinking it with these enhancers.

I've been counting them as water for a year now. I've had plain water probably three times in that year and I show zero signs of dehydration like cracked lips, dark yellow urine, etc. So they've been working just fine for me.

I haven't consumed plain water in about twenty years. If all of the other things didn't count, I'd have died from dehydration long ago.

As long as there isn't alot of caffeine added to it it's fine.

All fluids count (aside from alcohol) towards your water goal.

Merriam's kangaroo rat never needs to drink, getting all the water it needs from the seeds it eats.

All the Mio/generic Mio-type products I buy are specifically the energy ones so they have caffeine. All the diet soda's I drink have caffeine. Pretty much the only thing I drink without caffeine is alcohol. My hydration levels are just fine.

If you are drinking water, and then eat something, was the water still water? If you took what you eat and mix it into the water, is the water still water?

Caffeine does not make any significant difference to hydration

It is a mild diuretic if you are new to it, eg first few days but even then not enough to cause any dehydration issues

    This is a myth

I can't imagine anyone saying it does not count as water.

Unfortunately, they exist. I've run across them before. And they are usually pretty adamant about it. *sigh*

You're claiming that doctors claim that only pure water counts as water consumption for body hydration? Really?
