Hi there. I am new to My Fitness Pal and also new to the "shoot, over 60 and here it sits!" gang. At 63 I have gained 25 pounds and a "laptable" I do not want. So after trying several old and new diet fads decided the only way to really get rid of it is to write down what I am eating and see what has to go. Looks like everything! LOL We of this age group have unique weight loss issues, so I have been told by my 30 something doctor. Hm. My first day is today. I am eating what I usually eat today and maybe tomorrow so I can really see where the weight is coming from. The numbers are rather scary I must admit. I am determined to lose this weight by next summer. Hopefully I can do it with this site helping me. And yes I do exercise, finally got up to walking 3 miles a day, I have a bum foot so I walk a little slower than I used to but after being off it for almost a year I feel pretty good about it. Say hello and lets share our experience.

Thank you Juanita. It is a little confusing in the recipe area but I like the sight. I tried using SparklePeople before and was going to try it again but it would appear the site was hacked. That was a bit overwhelming so I found this one. Hope it helps.

I have just turned 70 and have lost 10kilos (22lbs) so far by using this site for the last 6 months, mainly from around my middle. If you want to add me as a friend to help with motivation, then feel free to add me.

It would be nice to have a "how to do it" section on the site, is there such a thing, have I missed it? I would love to add friends but don't know how. Help the newbie please. :)

Hi! I'm starting over today. I'll be 61 in September and am dealing with two hip replacements and a broken foot (the foot has slowed down the healing of the hips). Used this app over two years ago before the hips replacements and broken foot and it was really helpful. So perhaps we can support and encourage each other! It's hard to be as active as I want to be while recovering physically.

It's great that you are walking 3 miles a day and have begun tracking your food! Wonderful way to see where and what you need to cut down. Each day you do this program you will be getting healthier!
