Want to share my new discovery (Cheap + Healthy Meal Prep for work!)

So, last week I was eating one of those $2.50 steamer basket meals and thinking to myself "there has to be a cheaper way to get something this tasty."
Googled it, and hey, there is!
What I did this week, for both my and my s/o's meals, was take ten GLAD steamer bags (which I didn't even know existed?), and fill them with random assortments of:
1. Either Rice or Pasta
2. Shredded Slow-cooked chicken drumstick (cooked in just chicken broth and spices)
3. Either corn or broccoli
4. One of the following: Barbecue sauce, marinara sauce, sweet chili sauce, or enchilada sauce
On the plastic bag in sharpie I wrote each ingredient, the amount of each in grams, and then threw them all in the freezer. Put two in the fridge to defrost overnight, and then this morning I took the 8 minutes to add up the calories for each bag. Mine today was 314 cal and consisted of pasta, barbecue sauce, broccoli, and chicken.
If I had to estimate, each bag costs a bit over $1 to make. The broccoli is probably the most expensive part?
Anyway, this might be old news as a technique, but it saved me today at work, and it's nice to have homecooked food for once!
Cheers, guys. Have a great monday.
