Heart rate question

Why? When I walk on my treadmill at an incline, my heart rate gets up to about 160-170 and I barely break a sweat. But when I jog at zero incline, my heart rate still tops out at about 160-170 (maybe 180) and I'm pouring sweat. Granted, the heart rate sensors on my treadmill are not perfect. But I would still think that my heart rate would be higher running and that I would sweat the same amount at the same heart rate. Can anyone explain this?

Your heart will (hopefully) beat as necessary for your bodies needs. The two exercises mentioned have the same need. Try running faster or on an incline to increase heart rate.

Walking on an incline is hard and demands oxygen..please don't hold on, you need to walk unsupported for maximum effect

Running is hard and demands oxygen

Sweat is irrelevant and not associated with oxygen deliver but with cooling

I am confused that you are confused

Your sweat is an indicator of body core temperature regulation during exercise. The work of your heart will beat or work as necessary as the work demand you give it!

You might be holding on to the hand grips too hard when on an incline. You have to hold lightly.

You shouldn't be holding on at all

If you need to, it is preferable to reduce incline and work back up

My treadmill measures my heart rate with hand grips right on the treadmill.
I have learned to hold on softly to them. I wonder if she had same system.
She said something about sensors on treadmill. Gosh, someday I will be clear.
