Hi all, I just wanted to introduce myself, I am Jim, I am 39 yrs old and finally have had enough. I weighed myself on Sunday and was pretty upset with my weight, I am 5'8 and weighed in at 205lbs. Not super terrible but yet bad enough that I don't want to go to the beach and be the person in a shirt, or worse yet, go to the beach and not have a shirt on lol.. My wife and I cleaned out the cupboards on Thursday last week and since we had a vacation, decided that Sunday was going to be the day we started a new, healthier lifestyle. My wife is alot like me, but thats her story and if she wants to tell it she can, regardless, we are going to support each other 100% in this new lifestyle, which like all things that are not easy, yet so rewarding when you see results. I will share pics and things the work for me, when I have found them things, at this point I just wanted to say hello, and that i have read a lot of success stories and am very happy with all the folks who are doing something good for themselves by getting healthier. I have started by walking/running on our new treadmill 30 minutes each night after supper, drinking 0 soda, alcohol or any other bad stuff, trying to drink half my body weight in oz each day which is a struggle even though my job is really hot and I am thirsty. 100oz of water in a day is tough, but I have managed to Mon- 88oz, yesterday 96 oz and so far today I am working on 48oz. I make my meals each night before I go to bed so I don't wake up and grab whatever, I weigh out my food when I need to to get the correct calories, sugars, protein, I eat light during the day, have a fruit/veggie smoothie for breakfast on my way to work, a light lunch with a protein bar and some fruit or veggies, then have a healthy supper with my family at 5:30pm each night. My wife and I take turns clearing the table, doing dishes and cleaning up while the other is on the treadmill, I work out first one night while she does the cleaning up, then the next night I clean up while she is on the treadmill. Lastnight I had the incline at 4.0 and switched from fast pace walking at 4.0 to running at 6.5, back and forth, more walking now then running but that will change once my lungs get to where they need to be, I burned 306 calories (according to the tredmill) lastnight and 282 the night before. Any suggestions or ideas or some howdy's would be great. I really like the support that people give others that they dont even know, I wish and hope that our country would do the same all together at some point
