I'm trying to figure out my weight loss and calories required to maintain or lose weight. I had a drop the first week of tracking and trying to lose and I'm wondering if I should look at my data after that or even beyond because of water weight loss.

Any recs? Sorry if I didn't explain well. I haven't quite woken up :)

you need at least 6 weeks worth of data before you can make any informed decisions. stick with your current calorie goal for now.

You lost weight in the first week so its a good start. Keep on going and track your data over a period of at lest 6 weeks as above has already mentioned and you'll see if any adjustments to intake is necessary.

Okay, thanks. I have about four weeks of data. I'll wait a few more to start averaging. But at that time should I ignore the first week or two? Or see how it looks? Or average it in and just reassess after another month or so?

you don't need to ignore it, its all weight loss, even if its more likely to be water at first.

Don't ignore it, but expect the loss to be higher in the first two weeks and then the rate settles down. We lose alot of water weight in the beginning when we we start eating at deficit..over the coming weeks and months you will start seeing trends and as long as its downwards overall that's the main thing.
