I just want to make sure I'm still on track...
To lose 1lb per week, does one need to have a net intake 500calories under their BMR?
e.g. if BMR is 1700, and goal is 1lb loss/week, goal should be set at 1200 net. Without going into cals burned or redirecting me to a 200-page thread, is this correct?
Thanks in advance for any responses!

Your BMR is the number of calories required to function. Don't go below that. Enter your height, weight and age under profile and MFP will give you your intake goal.0

No. You take 500 calories from your TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure)
Your BmR is what your body needs just to function if you did nothing at all.
On top of that you burn calories in your everyda life just living. And then there is exercise. TDEE includes all that.
MFP figures BMR plus daily activities. It does not include exercise which is why you log it separate.
So you can follow MFP and log your exercise. Or you can use a TDEE calculator.2 -
to drop 1lb per week takes having 500 calorie deficit per day of your average TDEE.0
