Losing calories breastfeeding

I was told that while breastfeeding daily you burn an extra 500 calories. Is that something to add as lost calories for the day or something to over look?

I have just set my goals to "active" when I'm more like lightly active. I've never had a problem with supply from undereating0

The actual amount could be anywhere in the 300 to 1000 calories range assuming exclusive breast feeding. The majority of this is the calories in the milk itself (which still count!) rather than calories "burnt" to produce the milk. Unless they are pumping and know exactly how much milk they're producing then it's hard to estimate a figure for any given individual. Also, as babies go through growth spurts they tend to drink more.
I know that doesn't help you specifically, but I would suggest you be mindful of that fact when you're looking at your calorie intake so as not to undereat.0 -
if you search for 'breast feeding' in your food diary, it will give you the extra calories1
