I like to plan my meals and exercise to start the day. I have not finished at all, but so far this is what I have:
Breakfast
Cuties - Mandarin Orange, 1 SMALL
Lunch
Post Cereal - Raisin Bran, 1 cup
Meijer - Fat Free Milk, 1 cup
Dinner
Earthbound Farm Organic - Half Spring Mix & Half Baby Spinach 5 oz.(142g), 2 cups
Meijer - Sharp Cheddar Natural Cheese Fancy Shredded, 1/8 cup
Hormel - Real Crumbled Bacon - 50% Less Fat, 1 tbsp
Chatham Villiage - Traditional Cut Croutons, 2 tbsp
Cucumber - With peel, raw, 1 cup slices
Kraft - Light Thousand Island Reduced Fat Dressing (Reid), 34 g
My problem is, I have not met calories, or protein. I want to add more food, but I am already over in my daily sugar intake with this plan. If I add more food items that are healthy, is it okay to go over in sugar? It's not like I have cookies, cakes, and pies. But I understand sugar IS sugar, regardless of where it comes from. So what do you think? Add more food and go over in sugar, or try planning with totally different food?

I don't even monitor sugar. You can add protein to your salad at dinner...beans, chicken, quinoa.
Try adding protein to each meal. I'm struggling to meet my protein and increase my calories. I think it just takes some time to adapt to eating more food.0 -
Yeah, unless you're diabetic, ignore most of those minor items. Watch your carbs/protein/fats - go OVER on proteins! - and monitor your sodium content. Other than that, don't worry about it.
A lot of people like to set their carb/protein/fat percentages to 40/30/30. It's a decent goal to strive for - MFP sets your proteins WAY too low....0 -
No worries on the sugar - like the other poster said, I don't even track it.
You could certainly stand to eat more - have some eggs & toast with that single cutie you've logged for breakfast.
Ditch the milk & cereal at lunch and have something higher in protein. Make a "burrito bowl" with some black beans, salsa, avocado, plain Greek yogurt in place of sour cream, a little cheese, shredded lettuce, fresh tomato, and top it with some grilled chicken.
Have some meat at dinner - it's summer - grill some chicken or beef, or a lean pork tenderloin. And make a little extra so you have the meat for lunch the next day for that burrito bowl, or to top a salad. Baked sweet potato, steamed broccoli & fresh fruit on the side, or brown rice pilaf, quinoa, etc.
Snack on nuts, apples dipped in nut butters, fresh fruit, string cheese, veggies & hummus in between.
If what you posted is your entire intake for the day, I don't know how you do it - I'd starve!0 -

Yeah, Ignore Sugar. You can change your settings to watch another macro like fiber. I have mine set to Potassium, but that's only because of leg pain and my doctor recommended I watch it in case I have too little intake of it.0

LOL I eat more than that. I was just starting to plan my day when I realized I was over in sugar and posted this. I've got chicken, a potato, and nuts added and so far I am at 1,288 cals.0
