Ladies: Can you sense your impending period?

Even if you don't pay attention to the calendar, can you always tell when you're about to start?

I just knew last night that I would start by the time I woke up, even though its a week early.

I used to be able to sense when my ex girlfriend was going to have her period. She got really bitchy, aye.

Ya. I know two weeks before when it will strike.

OMG! I've had dreams about my period, too! Though I can tell my cycle has slowed because I've put on about twenty lbs. "Little Red Riding Hood" has been my best fitness barometer, ironically. :P

I have PMDD- anyone within 10 miles of me knows it's coming.

I'm a raving lunatic for at least 10 days

And just a semi lunatic the rest of the month <3:*

I crave salt and my back feels like it's broken.. That's how I know

I use to but I am currently going through early menopause (I am only 36 years old). I still have some inkling, of when I should be menstruating & I still do but it's been decreasing since April, drastically since May & began happening late this month. However some of the before things're still occurring, on time/usual duration: Thirst approximately 2 weeks before, insatiable sex drive about 2 days before.

Oh yes, my husband jokes (I think) that he's moving out between ovulation and menstruation. I don't even want to be around myself!

And they say menopause makes you bitchy. Bring it >:)

Nope. Never have. I used to "know" because the oral contraceptive pill pack told me so. I think I felt myself ovulate once, but I can't rule out it was just an intestinal gas cramp.

I'm sure the fact I've never have been particularly regular before or after going off teh hormonies is part of why. I don't have mood swings, either, so that herald indicating the end is nigh is out for me. And the only time I ever experienced a menstrual backache/uterine cramp was thanks to a copper IUD for two cycles before having it yanked due to the BV it was causing.

Since calorie counting, though, I've noticed a couple months now of not being satiated by the amount of calories I've set for myself (range: 1,583-1,783) for 1-3 days before the big day. It hasn't be every month, however, or a reliable number of days beforehand.

I've heard of a lady who has pms symptoms 21 out of 30 days. She writes about it all the time on here .... Lol

Luckily i don't experience anything like that. I may feel a little crampy the day before and that's about it.

Typically the crazy hunger and mood swings the week before are a dead giveaway LOL. Then I have 2-3 days of cramping, so I can typically predict when it's going to show up. For the longest time though the cramps were my only symptom (ah, good old times).

I can tell when I ovulate too.

The contraceptive pill that I take has meant iv not had a period for god knows how long. Been on it since I was about 17 and I can honestly say I don't miss having periods !

Apparently 50% of women on it won't have a period and it's nothing to worry about, iv questioned a few doctors about it cos I was worried it was harmful not having any periods but they say it's absolutely fine.

Iv came off it a couple of times just to make sure I could still have a period and I did, but it was so alien to me by then that I quickly went back on the pill, having all that blood again and the associated aches n pains wasn't nice especially when iv been free of it for so long

Crazy part for me is I can smell when I'm ovulating. I give off a different BO.

I used to be able to tell as well just by cramping and being bloated. My mood was not affected much.

However, I can tell you that menopause is interesting.....all kinds of mood swings and hot flashes. Now that I'm done, my moods are even and no mood swings.

I usually do because I can tell that my mood and body changes. And it lasts a few weeks (not every month) because of my BC.

I bet if I took a second I could too.

When I got off of birth control and starting ovulating again my ex-boyfriend said I smelled different/new.

Your partner will smell different to you when you're ovulating-- their pheromones are more noticeable because our senses are highlighted.

That's why "smell" is one of the top 3 things I look for in a man.

I don't know if I noticed him smelling different to ME ever.

Who knows now. I used to have a strong libido when I was ovulating. Now it makes me hate everyone.

I chart my cycles, so I pretty much know to the day when I ovulate and know to expect AF about 13 days later. I always spot a little the evening before, and I appreciate the warning.

I'm irregular but I know when I ovulate though cause I feel it! Sometimes quite painful and extremely sore boobs :/ then guarantee it will arrive 2 weeks later
Also the normal pms stuff the week before
