C25K, 21 Day Fix or both?

Two completely different programs but I've been losing weight which has been simple calorie counting and elliptical every day. I'm about to take a trip to see my dad and when I get back, I want to actually start something that really involves my participation. I know I want to start running; I ran in the army and I want to run again. But I also know I'm still a bit heavy and the extra weight will hurt me.
Should I focus on my weight loss first a la 21 day fix or maybe some other suitable program or do I jump right into the C25K? That's only a three day a week program and doesn't seem conducive to weight loss exactly.

Do 21 day fix exercises for full body fitness. Do 21 day fix nutrition for help in weight loss. Do c25k for running. Weight loss happens in the kitchen. Fitness happens in the "gym", formal or self-made.0
