After my eating was getting out of control I started following the Whole30 food plan. I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised at how great I feel and how I have no sweet cravings. I'm eating lots of fruits and vegetables, egg whites, fish, chicken and some meats. I also have white and sweet potatoes. I've experienced zero bloating, which I always felt, and have tremendous energy. I recommend it if you need to kick sugar and junk.

Planning is key. So before the weekend I plan meals and have fresh Groceries for the weekend so I stay focused since weekends are easy to get distracted. I carry nuts, lara bars, and fruits around for snacks. I follow it 95%, I still eat ketchup occasionally or some salad dressings not approved. I also have gluten free protein shakes for lunch because I'm on the go. I haven't really exercised yet, so that's my next focus. I wanted to get the eating part down. As for recipes, look them up on Pinterest... There's tons. Good luck!

I was just reading about this plan and thinking about taking the challenge. Is there anything you wish you'd known before starting you want to share? I am going grocery shopping Friday and plan on starting after that.

It depends on your goals. Mine was to kick my sugar habit and lose weight. The main thing is just to plan ahead and have food ready to eat. I think it helps to not be 100% perfect, otherwise you go nuts. Speaking of which try to limit nuts as those are easy to eat too much of. I track everything in MFP. Lost 4 pounds so far, once I start exercising, I hope that sheds more.

I have thyroid issues and am stuck in plateau. I thought whole 30 would help me break the plateau and possibly feel better because when I used to eat paleo my thyroid symptoms were gone, I just couldnt eat that way forever. I'm hoping that this challenge will help me break my dairy addiction and eat closer to paleo again once I'm done.
