Thinking about starting a 6/8 week cutt I'm a newbie. I'm around 27% BMI I could use some more muscle mass my legs army skin just this mid section deal going on. I'd love to get down to the 15% range or even 20% .Should I be focusing more on cardio or weights ? Combinations? Little lost here any help or tips would be really appreciated !!

Try heavy weights 3-4 days a week and maybe 1 day of cardio for the banter

You will lose Muscle in a cut so might want to bulk first. Personally I would figure out what your TDEE is and work on a nutrition program then just Train really heavy for a few months staying maybe 100-200 calories over TDEE to build the mass then do a cut. like next April before summer. My 2 cents

BMI is not a percentage it's a number

Body fat is a percentage but you wouldn't know what BF you are without a decent measurement ...scales don't give you accuracy

If you have excess fat you need to eat at a defecit till its gone - 6-8 weeks would be 6-12 lbs for most

Follow a decent progressive programme, for beginners Starting Strength or Stronglifts 5x5 are often recommended

Cardio for heart health and greater calorie burn 2x 20mim sessions a week adequate
