I don't think it's sad, my 5 year old granddaughter likes to workout with me (of course she doesn't do it long). I think it's teaching them to exercise and eat right. Good for you!

That my 5 year old daughter is my workout partner? LOL

Can she spot you? Does she yell at you to push harder?

Not at all! My 5 year old is my motivator, and she'll even ask me when I go to the gym "How long did you do the treadmill? How long did you ride the bike? Did you go swimming today?" And for days that I don't go to the gym - she'll suggest a walk around our neighborhood if it's nice, or do yoga or Pilates with me!

And I agree with others - it's adorable!

NOT SAD AT ALL!!! Sounds like she is your motivation and the way I see it, anything could be a motivator. Keep doing what you are doing to continue to work out.......at least you are working out, unlike many others. GOOD JOB!!!!!

I think it's cute, honestly! You're setting a good example for her. And obviously you would modify the activities for her, but it's giving her exercise and she just is emulating her mommy.

My son is three about to be four and he works out with me all the time.
We make bridges (planking) and he crawls on top of me and bounces to make the bridge fall down or he'll crawl under me.

Sometimes he helps my form and tells me to make my bridges like this ^ lol his *kitten* is so far in the air I'm not sure how he does it lol

Other times we'd run around the living room, dining room, and kitchen into circles and let me tell you running in a small circle from carpet to tile back to carpet and not having your feet slide out from underneath you where you smash your face into the floor ..is hard

Now I go to a gym and he plays with other kids but he constantly wants to come out and workout with me.
or we'll go to the park and walk around exploring...

I have more fun with my kid than I do adults my age ...
    maybe that's sad...

    I don't think that's sad. I think it's super sweet. :flowerforyou:

I don't think it is sad at all. #1, you are setting a good example for your daughter, #2, you are spending time with your daughter and she probably enjoys it and it helps to keep you motivated, & #3 she is getting to burn off some energy rather than bouncing off the walls.

i think its great for your kid but not ideal for you. you probably arent getting as good of a work out as you would alone or with and adult partner.

Nope. My 10-year-old is my gym buddy for cardio... sometimes it slows me down a bit but knowing that he's pushing himself makes it worth it.

Absolutely NOT. My 5 and 7 year olds work out with my sometimes.

My son's mothers day bio said:
    Mom's favorite food: fruit
    Mom's favorite activity: running
    Mom's favorite show: exercise TV.

Be proud that you are an inspirational and good healthy role model!!
