So I lost 30 lbs with my fitness pal earlier. Recently I've been logging again some in an attempt to get just a bit lower. But instead of losing, I've been gaining? Any ideas how I can fix that? I went from a very active job to a less active one, but I've been eating less to compensate. And I'm definitely eating less than when I was just maintaining, so how am I gaining?

If you have been gaining it could well be that you are still eating more than you burn (you haven't said how long this gain has been happening for so I don't know if its true gain or not)

How accurate at you at logging your meals? are you using a food scale?

Have you changed your settings on MFP to reflect your less active job by changing settings to sedentary?

If you are gaining you are not in a deficit. Make sure you are weighing your food with a food scale and not using cups/spoons or eyeballing. I agree with @RunRutheeRun by changing your settings to compensate for activity, but also make sure your goals are reasonable. If you are close to your goal weight by 20-25 pounds don't choose 2 pounds loss per week since this is unrealistic. Instead change to 0.5 loss per week and see what happens. Also take pictures &/or measurements since the scale can be deceptive.

Don't log some, log all. Don't attempt, just do. You aren't eating less enough to make up for the more sedentary lifestyle. Just tighten up you logging. Nothing crazy is going on.

Thanks so much. I haven't been logging recently. I found my big leak. I usually have coffee and occasionally a doughnut for breakfast, then a small lunch. Then after work I would go to my mom's and snack non stop for a couple hours. Not much of any one thing, and I figured since I wasn't eating the other part of the day I'd be ok. But I guess not. So I've stopped eating at my mom's entirely. If I want something at her house, I take some home, and eat a measured portion. I can already tell a difference in my body. But it's not easy ignoring all her snacks
