Calculating Exercise Calories

What is the most accurate way to calculate the calories that I burn during my workouts? I currently go to the gym and I do cardio for half an hour and I lifted weights for half an hour. I also tried to walk the dog for 1 mile a day. The problem is my fit bit HR tells me one thing and MFP tells me another. What's the consensus around here?

What precisely is "cardio"?
Log duration of weight training as "strength training" under cardio section of the diary.
(HR is useless for calorie estimates for strength training.)
Walking the dog for a mile is really under your daily activity setting and not worth logging as exercise.1 -
This is my routine (mind you, I just started going to the gym on Monday so I get tired easy. I'm 5'8 and 260lbs
30 mins of cardio: 15 mins treadmill at 3.5mph + 10 mins on the elliptical + 5 mins on the bike at 80rph
30 mins of weights: hard to define but I do 3 leg machines 50-110 lbs, and 3 upper body machines 20 lbs.
Ive never walked the dog, its something I started doing on Monday, should I not track it?0
