Vitamin tablets?

As I've cut down my calories quite a lot usually to around 1200, I usually also take multi vitamin tablets.

Is this a good idea? (I know getting it from food is better, but I want to know if this is the next best thing)

As a male you shouldn't be eating less than 1500 - as a young male you can probably even eat more than that.

I've got a holiday in a month and want to lose about a stone for it. After that I'm going to slowly up my calories :)

14 lbs in a month, unless you are obese, is too drastic and not safe.

Well, I just want to look slimmer. I'm not 100% set on a calorie goal, I just try to eat less and go to the gym.
Just wanted to know if having vitamin tablets was any good if eating at a deficit.

Wear vertical-lined clothes. Avoid horizontal lines. :+1:

Yes, a multivitamin is a good idea while in a big calorie deficit.

a multi vitamin isn't going to do any harm. with a restricted diet of 1200 cals, you may be lacking in vital vitamins to keep your overall health and immune system good.
    i'd also consider a Vit D3 supplement.

A stone in a month is very fast and probably means you will lose water first, then muscle with fat. The muscle loss will make you look worse when on holiday. You may also end up unwell as you don't have enough calories for cell repair, you'll also feel rotten.

Aim for 1500, exercise well and judge the results on the mirror not the scale.

Multivitamins are generally not needed as you typically eat more than enough but they will fill in any gaps you have. The term "expensive urine" is often used but there's no harm for the £1 it costs. Vitamin D is useful for the winter depending on where you live
