I don't normally have Turkey for Christmas.. it's not as popular here. Usually Ham, chicken, pork and prawns.

Because it's hot here Christmas day it's often lots of salads, cold seafood, cold meats eaten.
Desserts of plum pudding, pavlova, trifle etc.

I'm gunna try the fried turkey. Must look for a recipe. Could I do it with just a hindquarter?

Trying to Christmas shop online and not having much luck. :( What do you get a 29 yo dd, who's independent, private, going vegan, lives 1500 miles away, and won't give us any ideas?? She can't pack much to return home and is fussy. *sigh*

Currently: Watching the movie "Lolita" and finding it (and the novel it's based on) entirely PROBLEMATIC. I don't understand why this is hailed as "great literature" when all it's touting is an unreliable narrator who at every turn tries to convince his audience that "Lolita" seduced and bewitched him into doing the things he did.

Just watching this film makes me feel gross. Reading the book was hard enough. **shudders**

It’s lightly storming outside, and I’m laying in bed cuddled up with my KitKat watching “Brittany Runs a Marathon” - pretty groovy way to spend an afternoon actually 😊

    Reading

“I woke up and it was Valentine’s Day and I was lying in my bed, and my body was the shape of a melting chair. I was actually just a melting chair with nobody left to sit in it. I was a useless, ruined form yelling, ‘Sit on me! Please put your weight on me!’ in a worthless, pointless voice that sounded like a fart under the covers.”

Joey, what are the 2 bldgs in the middle... beige stone bldgs with the dark pointed tops, 1 larger, 1 smaller in front of it? They look like maybe an old church or university bldgs? Nice vid.

For me, I'm resting with an ale after a long, hard week, watching a Homeland marathon... that was before stuffing myself with a 1,500-cal sub the size of a baby dolphin. Nice to be done with everything for a few days.
