Finishing up desserts for the teachers my kids school. Somehow I end up on the only dad on the PTO every year and get roped into being over food truck vendors and making desserts

15 hour work day yesterday... I'm at 12 hours so far today and it's looking like we still have another 3 to go before we're done for the day. I'm actually okay with it. It'll be a nice check with the overtime and I don't have anything else booked until mid-January. So plenty of time off after Friday.

Your job sounds interesting, varied, & a little glamorous to me. I hope you really luxuriate in that time off

Thanks so much. It is pretty interesting and can quite often be fun. It can also involve sitting backstage in a ballroom where it's already below 60 and there are calls to lower the thermostat even more... 😑❄️🥶

My sympathies. Is it cold in whatever room you're doing the training? Do you need to borrow my heating pad?

    What kind?

It's cherry almond Poundcake. My mom's favourite take on Christmas cake.

In the oven now are Shortbread. I'm going through my mom's recipe box to make some treats we'd have when we were kids

Tomorrow is gingerbread per my brother's request. For the recipe box I draw the line at the Jell-O cottage cheese pineapple salad. So many things wrong with that

Yeah I feel like some of those things should go dormant for a long long long long long long long time. So long that when your great grandchildren are looking at the recipe they don’t even understand what the ingredients are
