It's terribly sad. The 23 year old inmate tried escaping while being escorted back to jail after he had just been sentenced to 55 years for murder and a couple other charges. Attacked the two deputies transporting him, got one of their guns. Shot the two deputies. Then took off crashing through the jail garage gates in the transport van. Led them on a chase. Then shot a civilian after he crashed the van, trying to steal civilian's truck. Didn't get the truck.Took a lady hostage, hijacking her car. Didn't shoot her, let her go. So shot three people total, one of the deputies didn't survive.
All this taking place a few blocks from my office. We were on lock down half the day.0 -

Those 55 years just became longer. The lives of those people's families and the survivors are changed forever. Such a horrible tragedy.1
