So guys I binged nearly 3,000 calories today ><
It all started with mozzarella sticks and tacos
then I ordered a side of fries
then I was still bored/hungry so I ordered crispy chicken tenders which comes with ANOTHER side of fries
then I did an hour of cardio at the gym and afterwards I craved something sweet to balance out the salty so I went and got an Oreo Mcflurry.
It was terrible but glorious lol
I'm just a few pounds from my goal weight so I'm not beating myself up too hard for it but back on track tomorrow!!!

Okay, so tomorrow you won't do that again, right? It happens. I gained back 12 lbs. last month and I feel like garbage about it, but you know what? We can't change what we did, only what we will do. Add me if you want, I have a bingeing problem myself, so I totally know how you feel.2

Make peace with it any move on. Meaning eat normally tomorrow, don't try to offset this by starving yourself, it wont end well. Just remember, one day of "bad" eating won't hurt you the same way one day of "good" eating won't help yoi, it's what you do consistently that counts. *Note I've binged on 7,000 cals before, within a few days I was back to normal. You'll be alright.5

Thanks for the encouragement!! Ugh my initial post got deleted so I just updated it with more detail lol but the binge days suck! Thankfully they don't happen too often and I always make up for it by being extra good the next few days.0 -

You are so right! I have had more of these days but it hasn't affected me in the long run because I'm good on most days.1 -

That's the thing, though. Being "extra good for the next few days" isn't the point, it's being just "good" (I hate that word) consistently, over time. I weigh myself once a week now, because crap happens and if I weighed myself every day like I used to, and saw that 0.01 lb gain from the extra protein bars I ate tonight on the scale tomorrow, it would send me into an irreversible tailspin.1 -
I had a 4000 calorie binge last week. Tasted soooooo good at the time, felt soooooooo sick that night, LOL. Weight shot up for a couple days but then dropped lower than it had been.1

There you go. Just relax and stay conscious around when eating. Mindless over eating can derail ones progress. Especially when your a few lbs away from your goals.2 -

Yup. The "mindless" thing gets me almost every time.0 -

How many times would you say you binge in a week?1 -

At least two or three. Not huge binges, but I will go through an entire box of 90-calorie Fiber One bars while I'm writing at night, which will throw me about 50 calories over my goal if I don't watch it during the day. I haven't had an all-out binge in a couple of weeks. But I have an eating disorder, so I really have to be mindful of what I'm doing, without becoming obsessive about the numbers (both calories and pounds). It's a very fine line with me.0 -

Oh OK, that's quite a bit. But I understand it's not easy abstaining from the "urge". It's an emotional thing. There's a void you're filling up with food. A little introspection and it's easy to spot where the real problem is in your life.1 -

I had an I don't care day last Sunday and ate over 3,000 calories. I've eaten at a slight deficit everyday since. I was up 2.6 pounds Monday and I am still up 1.2 pounds. Sometimes it takes longer than a few days. I'm thinking it may take me 10 days or so to get back to normal. So frustrated!

I'm so glad you are not beating yourself up. For me there has always been shame and guilt associated with food...my whole life I've had to battle that. It's just food!!!!! It's not "good" or "bad" it's just food! So, if you have a day where you go wild, that's fine. You count the calories and decide how to handle the rest of the week without feeling guilt or shame. Good for you...for me it's still a struggle.0

A few days +/- everyone's different. Bottom line is, you'll be back for sure. You can use the 10 day set back as a little reminder maybe lol.0 -
Over Easter when I spent the week with family I didn't give much thought to how I ate. Came back home a couple of pounds heavier and it wasn't until a week later that I was back to neutral, before the Easter binge. Two weeks of potential weight loss, gone!
Tasted good though0 -

I don't see it as a set back at all. Nothing to remind myself of. It's just life.0 -
I went to a wedding Saturday. Logged a quick add of about 3500 calories (literally for dinner) because I couldn't be bothered to keep track of the massive amount of decadent foods consumed, and even so, ended up at the low end of my weekly net calories. I probably ate too little in the lead up - but either way, I'm right back on it and it was worth every calorie. Sometimes you just don't GAF.2
-
That's the story of my life OP! What matters is to get back on track and never give up.1
-
I did a thing like that Saturday night except it was all kinds of stuff I bought at the Asian supermarket. :X I went to the gym Sunday and worked out like a mad woman, probably burning like 1/10 of the calories I ate.... Every so often I screw up.0
