Not consistent weight loss

I had a few months when I consisted lost 2lbs each week then all of a sudden I stopped losing weight but didn't do anything different, now it seems when I have a bad week, don't exercise as much and go over up to 200 calories I lose weight and when I do good, never go over and exercise a whole lot I don't. This doesn't make any sense.
